The Victoria Centre provides a meeting place for the multi-cultural and multi-faith community of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
Activities run from the centre include: Friendship and Luncheon Clubs for elderly residents; Breakfast, After school and Youth Clubs; and English language classes.
The Centre also provides a venue for groups such as the ‘Women Have a Go Group’ the ‘Choices Project’ (for people with learning disabilities) and an information centre for newr arrivals, to name just a few.
Staff at the Victoria Centre work in partnership with other community organisations on project delivery, the welfare of residents and community issues.

Childcare Worker – Maternity Cover
£17,503 per year salary - 34 hours per week – (Actual Gross Pay) Pro rata to period worked.
Job Outline
Victoria Centre provides a broad range of excellent childcare services and activities all year round, including Preschool, Afterschool and Holiday Clubs. We are seeking a temporary Childcare Workers to cover for maternity absence.
Your role will be to work to provide safe, high-quality education and care for children aged from 2 years up to 11 years (year 6), within the Centre’s Childcare Services. For a passionate, and flexible person this is a temporary role offering opportunities for you to develop in a high-quality Childcare setting and to enjoy significant variety.
Your primary focus will be to help deliver our Preschool Service. We operate a flexible working approach, and you will be expected to work your core hours within a core time-range of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with some evenings or weekend work as required, across any part of our Childcare Services.
You will be qualified to Level 3 NVQ standard (or working towards it) in one of the following areas: Children's Care, Learning and Development, or Early Years Care and Education, or Diploma in Playwork
In return you will receive: 4 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays per year, and access to our company pension scheme, pro-rata to the period worked.
As this role is working with children, you must hold a DBS with the tracker service or willing to complete an enhanced DBS with satisfactory results.
